Many skincare products use peptides to treat wrinkles . How do peptides help ? Collagen is the main component of skin, it is our skin's foundation. It gives our skin support and density. Youngsters have lots of collagen, older people do not.
Collagen is a protein made up of long increments of amino acids linked together like building blocks. When collagen is broken down short segments of 3-5 acids are formed called peptides. These are mini proteins or active molecules and we can pay a whole lot for them in our skincare products. Peptides affirm to improve wrinkles in 2 ways :
1. They signal the skin to synthesize ( manufacture ) more collagen. As we age collagen is destroyed and not reconstituted and skin becomes wrinkled and thin. Administering peptides directly to your skin will trick the skin into thinking collagen has been lost and needs to be replenished. the most popular "alert" peptide is palmitoyl penapeptide ( Matrixyl ).
2. Peptides distribute copper into your skin. Copper attached to the small peptide molecules is effective in healing, promoting collagen and acts as an antioxidant. copper will also help remove ravaged collagen.
Hope peptides work.......I'll be applying peptides to be my whole body.
