How often I Exfoliate?

We shed skin cells at a rate of 50,000 each minute. A good reason to vacuum. Proper exfoliation helps keep pores from clogging and helps skin to look radiant and healthy. Aside from daily use of a Clarisonic a thorough exfoliation of 2-3 X a week is best, especially for oily skin.  Sensitive and rosacea prone skin is better suited to 1 X a week exfoliation or just stick to your Clarisonic. Finishing Touch by Revision exfoliates skin with Polynesian Volcanic Black Sand and ultra fine pumice rendering a smooth and soft visage. The surface of these exfoliants  is round , minimizing micro-cuts and scrapes. For a real fun evening follow it up with Revision's Black Mask.

Does Drinking Water Help Dry Skin or Just Make More Bathroom Runs?

This is not to discourage drinking loads of water. Water consumption is necessary for brain function, energy, digestion and body temperature regulation. But we are not like plants. When we consume water it does not go straight to our skin, but travels to our intestines, gets absorbed in our bloodstream, is  filtered by our kidneys and then hydrates our cells. So drinking more water is not the solution for dry skin.
Your skin type is customarily decided by your genes. And that natural moisture barrier level vacillates on what your skin's protective lipid barrier ( keeps moisture in ) is exposed to. Think of how your face feels after a day of skiing in cold, dry and windy conditions. CHAPPED ! Minimize exposure to any elements that could deplete your lipid barrier, such as harsh winds, low humidity, dry heat , sun and alcohol ( that one is difficult ). Diet can help skin's ability to maintain moisture. Eating foods chock full of fatty acids found in salmon, walnuts, olive oil and flaxseed or borage oil ( both great for very dry skin or eczema ) can aid in helping skin cells stay hydrated.
The quick fix, the instant gratification for dry skin is a really great moisturizer. So in lieu of knowing where every clean bathroom in town is or moving to Bali, try our moisturizers geared towards super hydration. Moisturizers such as our Revision DEJ Cream, Elta MD Barrier Renewal Neostrata Bionic Face Cream and much, much more .
